Investing in your home is more than just a financial decision. We know there are many factors that need to be considered. Here we present some of the frequently asked questions that often come up during that process to help you make more informed choices for your home and your family.
Will Replacing my windows help lower my energy bill?
Yes! According to ConsumerReports.org, replacing your single pane windows with energy saving windows can save you up to 30% per year on heating and cooling bills. They will conserve energy, save electricity, and save power! Our windows are built with several features that ensure energy efficiency and a draft-free environment. So, your home stays cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.
When should I buy new replacement windows?
Deciding to purchase new replacement windows for your home can be valuable in many ways. For those planning on selling their homes, energy efficient windows are an attractive feature for any prospective buyer and can increase a home’s value*. For homeowners who are not planning to move in the near future (as well as those who are) there are benefits you’ll enjoy right away. These include increased savings on your home energy bills from higher window efficiency, and increasing your level of comfort from reduced drafts and better overall comfort for everyone in your house. Today’s replacement windows perform better than their older counterparts and enhance the quality of life in the home. They are a great investment both financially and in less tangible ways.
Why do I need an in-home consultation?
Every project we do has custom aspects and it is important that a professional consultant measures, inspects, assess the extent of your project in order to give you an accurate quote.
With Green T Windows, an in-home consultation has no cost to the home owner.
Will there be anything left for me to do after the windows have been installed?
Our prices include delivery, removal of old products, hauling away of all waste, installation of all new products, clean-up of all work areas and all applicable taxes. There is no cleaning for you to do or trash for you to remove. We work with you from beginning to end!
Can you install when it rains or if there is snow on the ground?
If it is raining or snowing we normally do not install any products. If it is raining or snowing on the first day of your install we will have to reschedule for another day. However, in certain instances we may continue with the install that is already in progress. If you have any questions regarding the weather as your install date approaches, please feel free to give us a call and inquire.
How long should my project take?
Most residential window, door, and gutter projects can be completed in one or two days. Siding, soffit & fascia, and some window installations may go beyond a single day or two. However, that will be communicated with you before we start your project.
Will my new windows stop condensation?
Today’s replacement windows perform much better than those made even 10-15 years ago. Our Green T 360 Series Premium Replacement Window is designed using a high-performing non-metallic spacer that not only separates and secures the inside and outside glass, but keeps the insides surface temperature above the dew point better than most replacement windows on the market today! However, the cause of the majority of calls we receive regarding condensation on the inside surface of a window is keeping the humidity level too high inside the home. Since there is no air leaking out of your new windows, you can keep the humidity levels lower in your home and still be comfortable.
